The Atlantic City Arts Foundation creates artist opportunities, engages the Atlantic City community through free arts & cultural programming, and inspires future generations to pursue careers in the arts!

Our diverse programs & partnerships activate community pride & civic self-esteem through interaction with public art, including the city’s largest mural arts program.

The Atlantic City Arts Foundation exists to foster an environment in which diverse arts and cultural programs enrich the quality of life for residents of and visitors to Atlantic City.

Our Vision

We envision Atlantic City as a community in which residents, businesses, government, employees, and visitors value arts and culture as a means to stimulate economic development, encourage civic engagement, and promote community well-being.

TIMELINE

2015

  • Sept - First ever ARTeriors opens at 121 S. Tennessee Avenue

  • Oct - Inaugural Chalk About AC spreads inspiration across the 48 blocks of Atlantic City

2017

  • June - Atlantic City hosts the first 48 Blocks AC event, with over 100 community-created projects throughout the city

2018

  • Apr - The site of the first ARTeriors opens as MADE Atlantic City Chocolate, part of the larger Orange Loop redevelopment project

2019

  • May - 48 Blocks AC Mural Week brings muralists from around the globe to produce large-scale murals for AC

  • June - “48 Stories” is published

  • July - ACAF partners with JINGOLI, ACPD, Office of the Atlantic County Prosecutor, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, & Vision 2000 on the Youth Diversionary Arts Program

  • Aug - 11th mural of 2019 is completed, surpassing our goal of adding 10 large-scale murals to Atlantic City in 2019!

  • Sept - ACAF partners with CDBG department to bring a mural to the walls of City Hall, through the Beyond Borders internship program for AC teens & young adults

2020

  • January - Partnered with Atlantic Cape Community College to host “What do you dream for Atlantic City?” which was attended by over 100 community members

  • April through September - Created six new murals for Atlantic City, including a mural on the Lagoon Playground basketball court and murals in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement

  • August - Brought 48 Blocks AC online, partnering with Stockton University and working with over 60 artists to produce content to an audience of over 4000 people!

  • November - Produced Safari Theater, an innovative drive-thru live theater event engaging 21 performing, literary, and visual artists

2021

  • May - Partnered with Levine Staller, Create 48, Boys & Girls Club, and Chelsea EDC to create the first mural of 2021: “STEAM Dreams” by Layqa Nuna Yawar, the first of 6 murals created throughout the summer

  • August - Hosted two in person 48 Blocks AC events, one at O’Donnell Park and one at Absecon Lighthouse

  • October - Held our 7th Chalk About AC event and partnered with Sovereign Avenue School and Our Lady Star of the Sea School to bring the event to the kids at their schools

  • November - Had the first ARTeriors AC ever in a residential space with ARTeriors Ocean Ave and transformed a row home with the work of 21 artists, bringing more than 750 visitors during the weeks the space was open

  • December - Launched the 49th Block Society to honor donors that support our mission with donations of $1,000 or more and welcomed 6 founding members to the society
